I woke up this morning a little scared, but then I got excited. I remembered what election day is all about. It’s about hope, and it’s about our future. With 2020 in full upheaval, today should be one of the best days of the year. Instead of fear, I look forward to watching the results roll in this evening. I’m admittedly nervous, but no matter the outcome, I will ALWAYS continue the fight for democracy. Instead of an essay, I leave you with a poem:
Vote for the immigrants
Vote for the women.
Vote for the refugees.
Vote for education
Vote for our climate.
Vote for marines at sea.
This election is different.
There is fear in our eyes,
But that is not who we are.
We stand for our rights.
We stand up and fight,
Because conquering fear is not far.
Vote for our courts.
Vote for our health.
Vote to protect our earth.
Vote for yourself.
Vote for others.
Vote to heal the hurt.
Be proud of our country.
Show democracy wins.
Put history on the right side.
Because facts are what matter.
Conversations bring change.
Let’s vote and heal the divide.
I voted Biden Harris and I hope you do too. If you haven’t voted yet, get out there!
